TTU Breaks Ground for Modern Diagnostic Centre

Takoradi Technical University (TTU) has taken a significant step towards enhancing healthcare delivery on campus with the sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of a modern Diagnostic Centre at the University’s Medical and Health Centre.

The project follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between TTU and PureMed Diagnostics Limited (PDL) to establish a state-of-the-art diagnostic facility that will serve students, staff, and the wider community.

Experts Call for Early Screening to Avoid Chronic Kidney Disease

Health experts have advised the public to prioritize early kidney screening to prevent Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), warning that millions of people may be living with the condition without knowing because it often develops without symptoms.

The call was made by Dr. Edward Donkor, President of Ghana Red Cross Society during a public health lecture organised by the Faculty of Health and Allied Sciences of Takoradi Technical University (TTU) in collaboration with the Health and Allied Sciences Students’ Association on the theme, “Combating the Silent Killer: Awareness, Prevention, and Management of Chronic Kidney Disease.”

TTU Signs MoU with Industry Players to Strengthen Students’ Industrial Training

Takoradi Technical University (TTU) has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with Ghana Water Company Limited, Plot Enterprise Ghana Limited, and Ghana Rubber Estates Limited (GREL) to strengthen industry-academia collaboration and create enhanced opportunities for students in industrial attachment, internships, research, and employment.

The partnership forms part of the University’s strategic drive to deepen engagement with industry in line with its 2026–2030 Strategic Plan and the PACT for Skills Project, which seek to improve graduate employability through stronger collaboration between tertiary institutions and industry.

The Vice-Chancellor of TTU, Rev. Prof. John Frank Eshun, described the partnership as an important step towards promoting competency-based education.
